Artist Statement:
“By photographing subjects from extremely close quarters or an unusual angle, common objects are transformed into a (semi-)abstract whole of forms, colors and structures that centre on mood, feeling and emotion. The resulting alienated effect is further enhanced by creating large prints of the images, often using alternative materials or techniques.
The resulting images show the fascinating beauty of imperfection and new wonderful realities hidden in even the most common and simple things that become apparent by looking at it in an new unbiassed way, putting it in a new perspective.
Inspiration is found in the capriciousness and miraculous, intrigueing world of nature and the human psyche.”
