Artist Statement:
I can not tell you when I
became an artist, art just
seems to have always been a
part of me, of who I am. Next
to my husband and children, my
art is what makes me feel most
alive. However, there was a
time that I didn’t think that
I was ever going to have the
opportunity to pursue my true
passion. Becoming a mother
at the age of 19, art took a
back burner to a path that
made me feel just as
alive…being a mother. Now, 23
years later my husband and I
are “Empty-Nesters” and I have
the time to pursue that
long-lost passion. I did not
realize how badly I would be
affected by my children flying
the nest and the deep feeling
of loss that begin to consume
my thoughts. I desperately
needed something to fill that
void and lo and behold, the
door that seemed once closed
forever had reopened.
I am a very spontaneous
artist; that being I observe
the beauty around me with
fresh eyes that absorb every
part of this beautiful
southwest that I have adopted
as home. I was not born in
the Southwest but ...
