Artist Statement for Christopher Furner

|
I express myself in my work. I bleed into some of my work from my life history. I am very much influenced by the world around me and all my paintings have something to say but I also believe it is important for the viewer to have their own interpretation of what they see. I am influenced from surrealism and German expressionism. I am also influenced by the work of Kirk Cubain more famous for his music but was an artist in his own right. Music and movies also influences me to paint. I see myself overall as a post modern painter.
