Artist Statement:
My artwork is inspired by my
real nature on this earth and
to spread emotions to the
world.

In my paintings, using ink in
a calligraphic and abstract
way, I come back to the past,
my past and to the historic
and cultural past too,
associated to the scribe
communication of oriental
people and the modern usage of
Chinese and Japanese
ideograms.

My art style represent the
harmony of a logical research
with my personal and
instinctive action that change
with the time, my time and the
time around.

I always try to represent
moment of peace and
meditation, sometimes using a
base of cork wood to recreate
an old landscape where
everything on earth was
balanced, some other times I
use paper recalling different
cultures as an universal
communication.

Some of the recent works are a
representation of my roots and
how I express my feeling about
it while I am living so far
away. I used a specific soil
come from the ‘Etna’, the
Volcano in Sicily and I
painted mixing paper, glue and
ink with it.

Why Did You Become An Artist there is no "why". it just happened. it was meant to be. it is not something i have decided but it was inside "me".

Your Personal Biography I was born in Catania, in the south of Italy and since then I have dedicated my life to Art.
I took an A Level Diploma in Art and Design and then I completed my studies at the Academy of Fine Art with a Bachelor’s Degree in Visual Art and thesis in Japanese art print, one copy of that is saved in the Library of the Japanese Institute in Rome.
I started to participate to art-exhibitions while I was still at University and I worked, for a while, in graphic studios. Then I decided to study to become an art teacher.
Before to start with my first placement in schools, I used to write critics for an exhibition in a Museum in Sicily and articles for a Sicilian Cultural magazine. I also published some artworks in a book and then I continued to travel to find inspiration and improve my skills. First of all in Malta where I studied English and in Germany where I realized a personal exhibition that was very successful.
After that I came back in Italy and I finally started my career as a teacher working in different cities, Palermo, Enna, Imola and then I moved to Bologna to study Japanese and oriental culture with a course in Buddhist Art at the Oriental University.
In 2002 I took a Master in Painting Restoration and in 2003 I decided to come back in Sicily where I taught history of art in a college and I participated to an International Art-exhibition for young artists in Rome but it wasn’t enough for me so I left and I came here to London to improve my English.
I still live here where I found love and the opportunity to use my art skills teaching, organizing origami workshops, continuing to study, doing research, participating to art-exhibitions and helping disabled people with art.
Art is my life, I always discover something new inside me and looking around in the world and always will be.
