| Your Personal Biography |
I was raised in Edmonds, Washington. My parents had wooden sailboats while I grew up, first a Blachard then a Thunderbird. I cruised Puget Sound in the summers and raced throughout the year. I was fortunate to live within walking distance of the water where I could use the junior yacht club's small sailboats.
In high school I did oil paintings of landscapes and boats.
I graduated from Central Washington State University with a degree in Art Education, but my eventual career was not art related. I retired from Boeing in 2004, but before I retired I returned to my watercolors and paper and have humbly enjoyed local success and recognition.
I have shown my works in many galleries in the greater Northwest regions, I have won awards in shows and art festivals.
The combination of light, water and the dynamic weather we enjoy in the Pacific Northwest creates reflections of beautiful boats that I find fascinating. As an artist, my goal is to explore how light and water play together to create such mystical reflections.
I paint from my own observations and have also enjoyed working with clients on commission pieces.
My collectors share with me that my paintings, not only bring color to their space, but also tranquility. I feel honored when I think of how many places my paintings are being seen around the world.
I live aboard our 54' Trawler with my wife and our pug.
