Artist Statement for June Stokely

"The Crawford Dog Series" some of which are pictured here was inspired by George Rodrigue's Blue Dog. Fashioned after an actual stray dog in the small town of Crawford, the dog was affectionately named "Crawford" by a veterinarian who lived there.
