***All six figurines in the Femme Petit erotic series have sold out of the first production run. The second run is now in production. If you are interested, please enail me at stuart@studioSL.com or visit my Web site www.studiosl.com/html/ten_inch_femmes.html
My art spans many media, styles, and disciplines. In short, I love to create. Create, to me, is rearranging what is already here into something different. If one is lucky, someone else will like it and want to share in its essence. For some, merely looking at art is enough, for others, owning it is the way.
In my younger years I sought to explain art through philosophy, rhetoric, and intellectual mumbo-jumbo. However, I was never a formally trained art student, but studied art through life, travel, and human interaction. This is not to say I don’t have philosophical thoughts on art, I do. But they are pretty straight forward and simplified at this late date.
Anything can be called “art,” and I have no problem with this. There are two distinct areas of art and they are: 1) what people have put a monetary value to that ebbs and flows like any other commodity or currency, and 2) what people personally like.
The art people buy that they personally like goes at a much lower value than that of a commodity for obvious reasons. If an artist is to become successful in the commodity trading circuit, he or she has to become fully involved and play the game of the “art biz” or they are pretty much doomed to mediocrity regardless of content or quality. It’s a political game, pure and simple.
Art is mostly defined by people who are not artists. They generally know a lot more about art than artists do, and they can empathize with artists, support, condone and cajole artists, but they are not artists. Nevertheless, these are the people that create value for art and put it in its place in the world psyche, which, in turn, creates art value.
Personally, I view these divisions simply as a state of being. They are here, have always been here, and will be here for a very long time to come.
My personal art ranges from “high art” to “commercial art”. My Web site has examples throughout: www.studioSL.com.
In sculpture, I am noted for my very realistic human figures, as well as the ability to copy exactly the idea or rendering supplied by a client. I can and do work in any style as I have sculpted for many major motion pictures, theme parks, hotels, museums, and universities.
For fifteen years I was one of the top sculptors in the Entertainment Industry and now I bring all my knowledge and ability to the world stage at a fraction of the cost because my studio is based in Thailand. I have a complete work force that follows my exacting standards and all projects have my hands-on expertise.
Although shipping time is four days by UPS, or about three weeks by boat, which is usually made up for by the speed of our turnaround. I have always been known for my speed and accuracy, as well as coming in at, or below budget.
I can design your project or work from any design you supply.
I can finish a project in any medium, whether it be resin or bronze.
Having worked for many of the leading sculpture companies in the states, running many projects, and doing cost analysis, I can say that our prices are mostly fifty percent, or lower, than stateside. Since I know many sculptors and companies in the states, I can work with them in installing any project that need such requirements.
For a more complete idea of all that my studio is capable of, please visit my Web site at www.studioSL.com.
Please don't hesitate to drop me a note about any concerns or questions.
