Artist Statement for Chandana Paravastu
|
|
|
Creating art has always been my biggest passion, strength and also my obsession. From the pencil sketches on the notebooks in the school days to painting on canvas now, has been an inspiring journey. Being a self-taught artist, has given me the freedom to explore and understand all the possible mediums.
I do know art history ,the art movements but I don’t know which influences me the best ,I search myself in all of them the pre-Raphaelite, the acedemic,expressionism..and I conclude I am influenced by all. So I paint not the darkness that prevails in the world, but the beauty in this world. I want my paintings to give a moment of joy and peace to the mind. I love how I see the world around me…colors, lines, forms,shapes,emotions,moods,so I continue to experiment with new materials, techniques, ideas, because it's the process of discovery[self and otherwise] that inspires me.
Having graduated in Instrumentation Engineering and obtained Masters in Business Administration, I choose to be an artist as it gives me immense pleasure, makes me feel good about myself. The feeling of satisfaction it gives to my soul is priceless and I would stand by it forever.
