Artist Statement:
I am a self-taught artist and
started drawing at the very
young age of two. Painting and
drawing has always been a
major part of my life, a part
of me I am very passionate
about. I have been a full-time
artist for the past two years.
I consider myself very
fortunate to be doing what I
love.
I work with two main mediums
being soft pastels and oils. I
like to stay true to these
mediums, maintaining a soft
romantic feel with the
pastels, and textured, vibrant
colour with oils. My palette
is always minimal and most of
my mixing is done on the
canvas, wet on wet, to
maintain vibrant colour and to
achieve dense layering. Detail
is paramount in every piece of
artwork which is created. What
you see from a distance is one
aspect, up close becomes
another. I paint the things I
love, be it for the colour of
my subject or the emotion it
conjures within me. My
personal aim is to capture the
essense of my subject and hope
to convey to the viewer it’s
anima,
soul. I want the viewer to
believe they could stroke the
