Susan Wellington is a painter who explores colour and energy patterns within forms, reducing and simplifying the figurative elements in her landscapes to reveal their wholistic essence. While the genre of landscape lives with the constant threat of irrelevancy, because of global environmental degradation and destruction it has been reinvigorated as a genre but in many different forms of expression. Her formal approach is influenced by Australian, European and Asian landscape and modernist painting traditions.
