Artist Statement:
Hi, and Thank You for taking the time to discover more About Me! My name is Cassondra Sweep & I'm a Self-Representing Pet and Wildlife Artist. I capture the unique spirit & vitality of animals & preserve memories of pets in beautiful original artworks.
I grew up in rural Minnesota & have always had three things that I can't remember being without - a deep & abiding love of animals, an insatiable desire to learn, & an equally insatiable desire to put marks on paper (& other readily accessible surfaces!). Soon after starting college, I became fascinated with the intuitive linework of great Chinese & Japanese master painters, especially in regards to the rendering of animals. It drew me into the study of Japanese art, history & culture, & an academic study in Akita, Japan. Upon my return to the US, I've continued my studies & drawn upon that experience to enrich my work. I've been offering my Original Fantasy & Animal Art on eBay for several years & it will be featured at over 25 art shows across the country this year alone.
