Artist Statement:
I have always been compelled
to create things for others to
look at and think about, but
my art is created mostly for
my own entertainment. It is
not only the creation of it I
love, but the hours and hours
of insight they provide me as
I live with them. When I feel
they have told me everything
they have to say, I let them
go.
I am particularly interested
in promoting apophenia (the
experience of seeing patterns
or connections in random or
meaningless data) and
pareidolia (which is our
condition to see faces,
objects, animals and scenes in
forms such as clouds or
inkblots). By removing a
conscious identity from the
artwork, I encourage the
viewer to examine their own
psyche as they come up with
possible interpretations.
Lyrical, poetic, graphic,
symbolic, ethereal,
non-objective... ?...
