Artist Statement:
My computer generated work, to the present, digitally addresses themes as cyber sex, ironic representation of geo-political power struggles, the aspects of ‘crime and punishment’ via internet. http://www.crossingthetsdotting theis.com "AdultBlind" The JPEG-s are downloaded from adult sites on the www. All these images are pornography but they range in degree from from conventional exhibitionism to soft porn to hardcore. Using PhotoShop I completely erased the nude bodies of the models leaving only the background. Or you could say I clothed the nakedness of the models with the surrounding pixels of the background. This is my method of giving further definition to the most popular type of site on the Internet. Technically, my use of the software (PhotoShop) is intentionally imperfect there are traces of the models’ bodies still remaining on the background. The backgrounds, apart from the people who posed in front of them are in themselves a social commentary. They range from the cheap hotel rooms, offices with dying plants to the expensive apartments or outdoor settings featuring cars, or scenic panoramas...
