Artist Statement:
In the early 20th century the “Fauves” and “Brücke” painters broke with traditional stereograms and shattered conventional visual habits. The search for an immediacy of expression, the concentration on fundamental principles, colors and brush lines, and the relinquishing of the perspective space are their characteristics. In the eighties, the so-called “Neue Wilde”-movement (The new savages), who had their roots in Berlin, adopted this approach. Achim R. Tandler also works in this fashion. His pictures are allegories and not only mere depictions.
