Artist Statement:
As my fate has willed it, in
the summer of 2003, I appeared
on the American continent.
Everything changed: the world
surrounding me, the people and
the language. As a result, I
changed and my painting
changed, too. While studying,
I used to admire academic
forms and style; now I have
shifted towards another
reality. This is the reality
where only I and my world
exist. This is the world of
my recollections, childhood
dreams, fairy tales and
“adult” intellectual books. It
is not truly the world, but
rather my perception of it.
How can I describe it? Just
tell you about it? I guess, I
am too embarrassed…This is too
personal. Or write you about
it? I feel that my language is
too insufficient for that. I
can only draw it…
My painting is my escape, my
joy and my love. It is my
virtual reality, a reality
where I go to immerse myself
completely and live in a world
of colour, capricious lines
and faint images. And later
return from either calm and
renewed or the opposite,
furious and violent especially
if interrupted in the middle
of a stroke of the
paint-brush, in the middle
of...
