Artist Statement:
As a self taught artist I strive to create a common thread between the viewer and my work. I employ the use of oil as my medium and work diligently to portray the emotional feelings I have about my subject or the creative idea I wish to express. Intuition does play a part in many of my paintings and I prefer to work from life. The manipulation of tonal values allows me to adjust the mood or timbre of the painting.
While I have exhibited in shows locally and had gallery representation I am beginning to spread my wings.
I feel I can begin to comfortably expose my work publicly and my endeavor is to evoke from my work a sense of warmth, character and hopefully a sense of nostalgia...given that, I am still honing my skills and invite the viewer to accompany me on my journey as I explore exciting new subject matter and attempt to convey to you my personal vision of the world around us.
