Artist Statement for Ted Clemens
|
|
|
My interest ranges from landscape to figurative to still life and western in subject. With sketchbook in-hand, I am always exploring the possibilities - each piece presenting its own challenges. I work mostly in oils, both studio and plein air, my passion being the outdoor painting. Appealing to the wanderer in me, it combines a love of working in color and the observation of both the natural and the civilized.

Originally from Meyersville, New Jersey, Ted Clemens is a graduate of duCret School of Art in Plainfield, NJ. A move to Utah and then Texas has enriched his love for the outdoors and the harsh beauty of the West. He and his wife and family live in Sachse, TX.
