Artist Statement:
My work plays with absurd images, seeking a levity that is beyond explanation. The less meaning a piece has for me, the happier I am with it. I think words are a beautiful artform quite separate from the field of painting, and I don't like to mix mediums.
Painting focuses and elevates my appreciation for life. My style is erratic and yet comprehensive. Each piece is completely unique in the world in that it captures an idea, and not just a picture.
I find that what people believe in limits their understanding and appreciation for the mystery that is beyond our capabilities to imagine. What we can label and rationalise and comprehend are far lesser shadows than what we can sense if we are open to any possibility. Sometimes I just like to shock people into being aware of what makes them angry, what their boundaries are.
