Artist Statement:
Although I am capable of
creating any type of subject
matter, I choose to create
non-objective art. I combine
organic and geometric forms in
a wide range of textures,
values, and colors, but
primarily in reds, yellows,
and blues. I often work in
watercolor, in which I am able
to use the lifting technique
that creates depth in my work.
Creating art to me is like
going out to play is for a
child.
The process of executing the
artwork is what is most
meaningful to me. When I set
down to do a painting, I am
only painting for myself.
This process allows me to
think through issues and
ordeals affecting my life,
almost like my own therapy
session. In this manner, I use
art as an instrument to keep
confidence in myself. I
create art for art’s sake.
