Artist Statement:
My name is Claire Williams,
and I live near Conwy in North
Wales.
I trained in Ceramics at
Wolverhampton University, and
obtained a BA(Hons), and have
been attempting to start in
business on my own since
leaving. I have recently
purchased a kiln, and so have
been able to begin working
again.
I was born in North Wales, and
have moved back here from
Wolverhampton because of the
beautiful mountains and sea.
This is where I get most of my
inspiration. I have a
particular fondness for the
wildlife in this area, and
also for the farm animals,
particularly cows and sheep.
My work has become a lot more
cheerful of late, and I am
sure you will see the contrast
between Journey of Life, and
Sheep on a Hill. This is
because I am now working on a
smaller scale, exploring the
tiny details, and seeing how
small I can feasibly go with
the clay....
