About Tibi
Tibi has graduated in 1983 from the Academy of Fine Arts in Bucharest, Romania with a Master of Arts in design and visual communication. Over the past 20 years since he has moved to Toronto he has pursued a successful career as a designer and branding strategist with several companies including 123brand.com, the branding firm he founded in 2000.
Simple is difficult
In the past years Tibi has dedicated more and more of his time to his original passion of being a full time visual artist. He now re-emerges on the world's art scene as a mature artist whose distinctiveness lays in his ability to convert life's complexity into visually inspiring simplicity. Tibi's experimental art draws its influences from the various art movements and cultures he studied, from the cave paintings at Altamira to Warhol and Pollock and from ancient Japanese and Zen calligraphy to the algorithmic and digital art.
The "new thing" in painting
Exploring the endless realm of visual art with its characteristic enthusiasm for all that is new, Tibi has put all his creativity, experience and artistic skills into bringing innovative new ideas and new techniques in art. Two years in the making Tibi creates the Fused Acrylics™, a term he coins for his new painting technique. As suggested, fused acrylics are skillfully executed layers of paintings fused with a custom formulated medium that binds everything together. This unique painting technique allows for the execution of stunning imageries of an unseen depth of field and richness of color. Tibi's first fused acrylic paintings (in the nature series) were publicly presented for the first time on March 19th. at the 2009 Toronto Art Expo.
