Artist Statement:
Most of the subject matter in
my photographs features the
human body.
Although friends/models
usually appear in my
photographs, I have recently
begun taking self portraits,
in an attempt to immortalize
and freeze a moment of my life
in time.
These portraits frequently
reduce my body to anonymous,
fragmented entity.
Intrinsically, the human body
is a temporal, transitory
being that passes with time.
These photographs capture the
ephemeral quality of the body
in light to create poetic,
painterly images. Using slow
exposures, the body is reduced
to a blur, simply a memory
captured on film.
