Artist Statement:
Currently I’m working with materials that come anywhere from dumpsters to office stores, in conjunction with the traditional art mediums of painting and sculpture. In this series my interests lie within the social, educational, political, and psychological responsibilities of art today in a world mostly full of machines, corporations, and endlessly specific objects. Within this infinite stock I am assembling objects attempting to arrange them in the form of a utopian place with some revolutionary questions. I have chosen a scale that allows a microscopic universe to evolve onto a vinyl chair back. This scale gives a god like view, while still being toy like and playful. A lot of the images are coming from my own stereotypes of what would be a modern day utopia, like cityscapes, and galaxies....
