ARTIST CO-OPERATIVE COMES TO NORTH ATTLEBORO
The Village Artisans Collaborative, a regional collaborative, has found a permanent home at 21 North Washington Street, North Attleboro. The collaborative, traditional where all the artists involved pay for and run the space, consists of many types of fine arts and crafts including painting, photography, ceramics, fabrics, paper art, furniture, wood and jewelry.
You may remember the group as the hosts of the October 2008 Autumn Arts Festival at Veterans Park and the Holiday Showcase at 58 Orne Street in the 2008 Christmas season. The group started to form in March of 2008 and has grown into twenty five artists at the store location and has fifteen more who will serve as store featured artists throughout the year. You will also find artists hung around town on a rotating schedule in locations such as Plaster Plus, SOTP Cafe, the North Attleboro YMCA, Richards Memorial Library and the Preservation Framer.
The collaborative is the newest addition to downtown and is looking forward to connecting with local community organizations and residents alike. The group has at least one event planned for each month in 2009 and will offer classes for May with registrations starting in April. The business is due to open April 1 with hours as follows: Mon closed, Tues & Wed 12-6, Thurs & Fri 12-8, Sat 10-6 and Sun 11-2. Adult classes will be scheduled for Tues & Wed nights and children’s classes will be scheduled for Saturday mornings - please stop by to see what
we are offering.
The collaborative will be hosting a Grand Opening on April 4 from 7 - 10pm. Come out and support the arts by stopping by for a meet and greet with our artists and spend a night enjoying original works of art.
