Lynn Spaulding's Artist Portfolio
Welcome to Lynn Spaulding's Portfolio.
Over the years I found myself yearning to be creative. However, with no formal training, I wondered what genre would be most suited for me to bring out my creativity and that I could also share with others. Since I have always been fascinated by colors, dimensionality and textures, the utilizing of mixed media seemed to be the perfect venue.
Treasure hunting for my artwork is most exciting for me. No matter whether I find them, make them myself, or have been given them, they become my inspiration. These treasures are meant to be both simplistic and unique, but once compiled onto the canvas becomes intriguing and engaging. They might even tell a story. The challenge for me as an artist is that when the viewer looks upon my work, their eyes are not drawn to just one area, but are compelled to continue looking over the entire canvas as they discover new treasures themselves.
Because my pieces are so visually diverse, I am free to choose whatever form I find most appropriate to the idea of each piece. I find this approach to be very liberating.
