Artist Statement for Tree Pruitt

*Tree Pruitt works with acrylic painting, assemblage art, sculpture, oil painting, collage, digital painting & photomanipulation. Her styles reflect social & political issues, metaphysic, spirituality & existential matters of the human condition.
PLEASE NOTE: 4/26/2007 I have so many items coming and going that they often don't get the chance to be listed because I'm very busy right now. I also have many projects in motion at this time, so regret to say that my space here is a bit sparse. I'll be sharing some new items here very soon. Thank you.
*STATEMENT: Images are often arenas for my own contemplation of a thought or an emotional out-pouring. My angst, when present, is balanced by an unstoppable optimism and unending curiosity.
It's my curiosity and need for expression that make me paint. I have fun with creativity and most enjoy re-creating objects from everyday life through sculpture, assemblage, and folk art activities. But I always go back to paint. Overall, it's up to the individual viewer to take away what they will - what they need - from the experience. I'm just trying to offer an experience to have.
My works can be found in private collections around the world, including the socio-political collection of Mr. Bryan Dodd. Most of my clients are individuals who prefer privacy be respected on the Net for security reasons. I do invite you to contact me if you'd like referrals.
