Artist Statement:
Throughout formal education, art was something to be observed. Although not keen on being a painter, there was admiration for the works of famous masters.
One day in 2003, I bought a set of watercolors, brushes and paper on a whim. What followed was a first attempt at creating. This process was inspirational and sowed the desire to express myself. My residence is fast becoming an informal art gallery.
Unable to boast of any formal art education, my tutors were various publications from which knowledge in the field of art styles, techniques and composition and techniques could be studied.
Painting still remains a passion. The day job in Exxon Mobil provides the means to pursue the dream, to develop into a professional. The realization of being an emerging artist has not been lost. Temporary rewards are frequent, setbacks even less common; however I`m happy with the progress.
Still in the developmental stage, a primary style has not surfaced. Continuing to work in various styles, genres (landscapes, still life or fantasy) mediums (oils and watercolors) and formats (color or black-and-white), something shall emerge.
Please assist me with the first test at publishing my creative experiences.
