| Your Personal Biography |
Nelly started 35 years ago her artist-career as a passionate watercolorist. She is wellknown for her colourfull paintings in that medium. Her works are in the collections of some big compagnies like Dow Chemical, BASF, Rank Xerox etc. and in a lot of private collections all over the world. The inspiration comes from her surroundings : the skyline so low and the skies so high. Zealand is famous for the special, beautifull light: it is refracting in the water surrounding the isles and the polders. Her landscapes are representing a special place in the Dutch tradition of great landscape-artists. To change sometimes of subject, she likes to paint dark coloured flowers, roses and tulips, and also her so beloved CATS AND CATWOMEN. She has obtained a very personal style in representing her favourites. About 1990 she started to paint ACRYLIC works, but the subjects didnīt change. A critic wrote about her: This Zealand artist shows that in art personality is more important than originality.(Sietse Postma, a well respected critic for KUNSTBEELD, an art-magazine in the Netherlands) Since the end of 2005 she restarted her abstract works from longtimes ago (1990 - 1995). She is using her acrylic paint sometimes more as a watercolor and loves to create an abstract world in this medium. The jewelry made of rubber (latex) is represented in galeries in Paris, Barcelona (Forum Ferlandina) and Antwerp. It has also been showed in Paris for a collection of the Dutch fashiondesigner Aziz. Nelly is a artist-painter, but sometimes she likes to create other things.
