Artist Statement:
Coming from a non-artistic
Mayflower pilgrim hard-working
family of traditions and
heritage, I thank my mother
and grandmother for nurturing
the artist within me and
finding the time in their
dutiful lives to acknowledge
the creative nature in my
soul. It has been with their
guidance that I have been able
to discover the nature of
subjects in my viewing of the
world: The nature of light
around a tilted building, the
nature of a boy in love with
puppies, and the nature of
shadows and light playing in a
flower laden field. Without
the hypervigilance of both
ladies I would have never been
able to see what others are
missing or imagine on canvas
the way the world needs to be
viewed....
