Artist Statement for Vera Kavanaugh

|
I have been in love with art, drawing and painting, my entire life.
I had the good fortune to attend the Art Student's League, NYC, at the age of 17, and had excellent instruction from Louis Priscilla.
Then marriage, children and another part of my life, took over. I put my artwork on hold, for a time.
The passion to paint, was strong and with my family grown, and on their own, I found the time to finally persue art.
I went back to study at the League, and I attained my proud membership.
Here on Long Island, NY, I belong to several local art organizations.
I am an art instructor, teaching Basic Drawing and Painting, Portraiture, and
Landscape Painting.
