Artist Statement:
Vincenzo Ragazzo was born in 1971 in Bari (Italy), lives and works in Cascina (Tuscany - Italy), graduated in medicine, exercises the profession of paediatrician. His passion for the painting was born in tender age when close to his father, painter amateur and art collector, attends galleries and exhibitions where he knows some of the most important names of the 20th century art. Classical studies involved him more and more, approaching him to the classical world of painting, allowing him to deepen his artistic culture. Self-taught, he begins painting by reproducing ancient works, often interpreting the figure with his personal and simple style. For a long time his activities are concerned with landscapes and portraits, manifesting a good anatomical acquaintance and an innate sense of colour. The watercolour along with the acrylic painting, is one of his preferred way to propose and to interpret the nature and the figure. Later he matures a visual perception of the image, abandoning the figured heritages and aligning to a painting of colour and symbol that leads to the image for feelings and states of mind.
