Artist Statement:
primaryonics I'm inflating,
oxygenating and expanding
acrylic concoctions on two and
three dimensional surfaces. I
developed these
techniques/processes
struggling with airbrush
techniques in the mid 90’s and
have directly been using them
to create my images since the
summer of 1998.
July 2001 I began working on a
body of work limiting color
and size. Palette limitations
are red,blue and yellow
straight out of the can. The
color is applied opaquely,
translucently and
transparently. Size is limited
to 24” or smaller. We be
talkin primaryonics.
From 1992 to 2000 I lived on a
rooftop on W25th St and 11th
Ave in NYC . My most
spectacular view was south to
the World Trade Center. After
9/11, I began working on a
subset group of paintings.
These works, whose title
prefix is "ex", are a direct
response to 9/11.
Primaryonics presently
comprises more then 200 works
on plywood, paper and shaped
rigid foam insulation.
