Artist Statement for Virendra Patel

|
As statement I paint ...and make images.. what ever the tool or medium.. All the time with innate sensibility
to my environment and as celebration of being alive and having life....and its vivacious sensuality...
Flat or dimensional, with whatever medium or tools, whole act should be an enriching experience for me and
on looker, and an increment in my experiential data and pleasure, and in turn my sensitivity. And If I am unit of
this world, World would be one unit more sensitive.
As such I wish, I knew why I make these images...probably any field I would be in I would relate it to my quest
for life and its manifestations........love, hate, surviva,l death..........................
Recently I am into digital drawing and paintings. Mediums too real quality makes images more un real
and essential, hence more graphic and sensual. It is delight and reaffirmation of human senses and its
celebration of being alive and functioning day to day in this mechanical and over powering intellectual world.
(Computer/printer) are nothing but tools...for image generations, and images are sensually felt and are mine..'
Earlier training and work had been more formal... but elitists feel about it was always against my grain and
my search and liking for day to day, image quoting, equivalent to tribal, folk language like images for
‘urban folks’ common and urban ‘kitsch’(in positive sense meaning eclecticism at its archaic stage rather than
classical stage) sensibility having wider readership due to its affinity to posters, hoarding, advertising and glamor
and journalistic sensationalism, yet meaning full to escapist ethos of the time.
My belief As an artist(but naturally as human).
Also image is more graphic rather photographic....common language of consumer and advertise savvy society.
one need not have art classes attended nor one needs self helping art critics, in fact my turning to digital media
lately is largely due to the quality mentioned.)
