Artist Statement:
Over the past 18 years my work
evolved in many different
directions. I utilized a great
variety of styles.
All these brought me closer to
abstract, the only way of
expressing
my spirit more fully than
traditional art styles
encourage.
The images given to me in my
art embody my state of being.
They represent a world where
spirit, mind and body are one
unity. Through my paintings I
express my inner world,
perceptions, philosophies,
dreams and fantasies,
sometimes realistically and
sometimes symbolically.
My sources of inspiration are
the feelings, fears and hopes
shared
by all human beings.
Strong lines are a
manifestation of my influence
from iconography, an ancient
art form focused on the human
face.
Vibrant colors reflect my
current mood but they are also
memories of the images of my
youth under the Mediterranean
sun.
My recent work spans a broad
range of feelings and states
of mind.
I certainly hope that my art
will enlighten the viewer’s
spirit and bring hope and
beauty to make life a
worthwhile experience.
