Artist Statement:
HI - I call myself VT farmer
artist because I am in VT, Im
an organic fiber and veggie
farmer, and Im an artist. I
hold my BFA and have taught
art in public and private
schools as well as in my own
studios.
I am a tactile Junkie! I
thrive on varieties of
texture, and I love working
with colors in non traditional
ways in my work. The works of
mine I like the best are works
that flow out of me in
response to the materials i
gather up and put around me.
Latley my passion has been to
repurpose and recycle
discarded items to produce
looms and woven, twined, and
knit items such as handbags,
rugs, and table runners.
I also love working with
gemstones like apple and
picture jasper, turquise, red
tiger eye, and bali beads of
silver and copper& silver
combination...I use swarski
chrystals at times also, many
of the "findings" (clasps et)
are of my own making. I make
each piece a unique one and
never duplicate. If you buy
from me you are buying a
unique item and NO ONE at the
restarant, event et... will be
wearing your necklace, earings
et... lol...
...
