Artist Statement:
I love painting. Every stage
of it. The first, the moment
of inspiration when I suddenly
realize that I really want to
do something with this
particular
scene/person/mood/color or
light effect). Then the rapid
establishment of
proportions/tonal
areas/priorities using thin
paint and large brushes.
Followed by the more labored,
careful building up of areas
of color in glazes one over
the other or with pure paint
'impasto' technique to build
surface quality. And, finally,
the finishing touches with
smaller brushes, paint thinned
with medium and used with
infinite patience and -
hopefully - the wisdom to know
when to stop.
Selling is nice too. So do
your best, dear reader! ...
