Coming from a renowned Dutch family of poets, academics, and discoverers it is not very surprising that he decided, at mid career, to take art master classes to bring art in his life.
Immediately water became the theme of his art work. He came to regard art as a vital force in raising awareness of the importance of water sustainability for health, but also for economic development and wealth. Respect for water can be conveyed in art, especially for the younger generations.
In 2000 at the World Water Forum, The Hague, the 5 panels “Water Buffalo” was made for the Forum directed by the Crown Prince of the Netherlands.
Throughout the years he has been invited to many international exhibitions and has been asked as curator.
In 2006, his painting “Water Wish” was chosen to be part of a book called Dutch Golden Glory, the Financial Power of the Netherlands through the Ages, by a former director of the Dutch Central Bank, with excerpts from the Crown Prince of the Netherlands.
Lately he sees “integrated art projects” as vital part of new public or private developments in creating inspiring surroundings.
