SELECTED EXHIBITIONS:
The WORLD WATER FORUM,2000
This special event has taken place during the year 2000 in Holland and was chaired by the Dutch Crown Prince, Willem Alexander. Besides the attendance of politicians, economists, scientifists and other experts, 30 international renowned artists were asked to give their vision on water.
Winand Staring was one of the artists participating, whose large painting "THE WATERBUFFALO" was especially honoured to be exhibited in the VIP lounge, visited by Queen Beatrix and Mr. Gorbatsjov as well as ministers, ambassadors and celebrities from over ninety countries. Subsequently the exhibition has travelled extensively through The Netherlands.
JAPAN
Winand Staring also went to Japan during 2000 to show some of his work on one of the old historic VOC sailing ships, and for an exhibition at the Royal Dutch Embassy in Tokyo.
AMSTERDAM AND BRAZIL
During September and October 2001, the renowned gallery of Mia Joosten on the Keizersgracht in Amsterdam hosted a solo exhibition of Winand´s work on the theme of “Water”.
Almost simultaneously, in September 2001, the opening took place in Santa Catarina, Brazil of another exhibition by Winand Staring, together with Brazilian artist Gloria Dittrich on the theme:
“Water, the challenge for the new Millennium”.
MIAMI
Solo exhibition in the Florida Museum of Hispanic and Latin American Art in MIAMI. October 2002.
BERLIN
Winand Staring and his "Artist impression on the World Trade Center Site" at the Berliner Kunstprojekt, a projekt together with Carel Richter. February 2003.
A NEW LINE
Apart from his larger paintings Winand Staring recently developed a new line of small oils (20x20 cm), called “Smallies” and weatherproof Boxlike acrylics, to be hanged outside in the nature, called “Outsidies”. They all bear the radiant colours and the typical style of the artist, but are available at reasonable prices.
They were first successfully introduced in MARBELLA, Spain, 2002, and were the symbolic novelty shown at the FLORIADE 2002, the world exhibition for flowers and plants, held every ten year in The Netherlands.
