Artist Statement:
It is my firm belief that
somewhere inside all of us
there is a bit of an artist,
even if there are only a
select few who can truly be
called "artists". We each have
our own art inside of us.
My art is my passion. Images
rise up behind my eyes and
with anything from a pencil to
a lump of clay I turn them
into something more than just
the thoughts they are. This
process of creating something
is quite a wonderful -- if
sometimes difficult or trying
-- task. It's what I live for.
I am constantly learning from
others and teaching myself new
things so that I may grow as
an artist. I try very hard not
to judge the art of anyone
else -- if I don't like it,
that's fine, but that doesn't
mean it's not art -- and by
doing so I feel that I can see
my own art with more open
eyes....

The only showings I have been a part of were school-oriented galleries. A few years back I was awarded a Silver Key (sort of like second place, if you will) by the Cleveland Institute of Art in their annual student art exhibition, and was also awarded several honorable mentions in their state-wide competition.
