Artist Statement:
I have no artistic background
whatsoever. What I do have
though is oodles of creativity
and a carpe diem attitude to
life.
I've earned my living doing
various things from baking
bread for my daily bread,
owning my own translation
agency, freelance writing,
publishing a women's print and
online magazine as well as
being an office drudge.
Born what seems to me many
passionate lifetimes ago in
Japan to a Swiss father and a
Seychellois Creole mother,
I've been surrounded by magic
and mysticism all my life.
To me, life, art and
spirituality are intertwined.
My spirituality has a definite
influence on my art and my art
feeds my spirit. I think that
this is true generally; the
very act of expressing
ourselves through art connects
us to the more right brain
oriented side of our being,
and it is our right brain that
is connected to our feelings,
intuition and heart.
And heart is soul.
