| Biggest Artistic Inspiration |
I am interested in exploring the aerial view of distinctive formations of the land. My purpose is not to duplicate but rather to interpret the landscape using patterns of organic and geometric shapes against massive areas of relief. The expansive lamination of synthetic materials coating these natural compositions conveys that of humanity’s impact upon the earth. Linking the many environmental realities of climate disruption and land desecration, this process serves to document the gravity of the reciprocated disrepair on our delicate home and breaks the binds of geographically limited space.
With an array of colors and textures, these relief paintings speak the language of a diverse, fragile abstract world. The insistent rhythm of urgency we continue to create beats tenaciously through the bloodstream of this discourse. As a social necessity, our relationship with the land is an innate venture, connecting us all as a people to a boundless absolute. These land/humanscapes are an enduring expression of my unique connectedness and personal relationship with Earth.

| Your Personal Biography |
Raised under the wings of artists, Joshua Wolff's early connections to the visual art form dawned from his family's association with ceramics and painting. Having grown up in the diverse seasonal changes of the North and Southwest regions of the United States, his interests in geology and topography are a direct result of his equally impassioned interests in the exploration of the land. Wolff's influences are wide and varied, spanning from Caravaggio's luminary originality to post modernism potentialities.
In December of 2005, Wolff received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in painting from Northern Arizona University. He has been a professional artist for almost a decade, exhibiting work in various local venues as well as a frequently updated online portfolio. Specializing in painting, drawing, and photography, his use of various mediums has expanded to many other areas of artistry, demonstrating an incorporated, innovative personal style. From his early student days of experimentational layering of techniques, to the various textures of eclectic abstraction, which continue to blossom, to this day, into a single cohesive vision, Wolff continues to work with many mediums in exploration of the human landscape. |
