Artist Statement:
Wanda Torres was born in San
Juan, Puerto Rico. She was
granted scholarships by the
Institute of Puertorrican
Culture and the Columbus
College of Art & Design, in
Ohio, where she completed her
Bachelor of Fine Arts. Wanda
has illustrated important
books authored by
international writers, such as
Alfredo Brice Echenique from
Peru, and José Luis González
from Puerto Rico, among
others. In 2000 she received
the The Alfonso Arana
Foundation grant to make a one
year residence in Paris,
France. Her work can be found
in private and public
collections in Puerto Rico,
Europe and the USA. Wanda
currently lives in Paris,
where she prepares for her up
coming shows and collaborates
with her husband, writer
Jean-Francois Gerault, in
several editorial projects.
