Artist Statement:
I'm a Wyoming photographer who
has worked in the medium for
over 30 years. I started my
career in the Air Force,
managed a couple of camera
stores, then worked for the
state of Wyoming as senior
photographer for nearly 16
years. Although my work
entailed everything from
photgraphing the governor to
working with law enforcement,
my greatest joy was taking
pictures used to promote this
diversely scenic and wide-open
state. Its large and untamed
wilderness expanses and
wildlife could occupy a
photographer for several
lifetimes. After the loss of
my first wife to cancer, I
left the employment of the
state to start teaching photo
workshops and pursuing my own
artistic ideas. It was the
best move I had ever made.
When I'm not in the field
trying new things, I teach
workshops on wildflower, fall
color, scenic/landscape,and
sky photography.
Since I started making some of
my own equipment to do
panorama landscapes, I've
found new and challenging ways
to incorporate my traditional
photography with digital
technology. The panorama
print featured on this site is
my premier piece, but not my
last. Living and working in
Wyoming for a lifetime, I've
