Artist Statement:
Pottery is a vision of human creativity, with works of art that has maintained their form and glaze color for thousands of years. I use clay bodies to express visions of mind and spirit. In my work, I design vessels through creative expression of the hand, developing unusual and appealing art with carefully designed glazes and often adding driftwood, leather, hemp and other mediums to give the piece a naturally unique appeal. Using my own glaze designs, each piece depicts the powerful effects of glaze materials interacting with fire. My desire is to have those who view my pottery to feel the warmth and spirit in each piece when visually or physically handled....

At the moment, everything I do is a work in progress, therefore I having one single inspiration has not been chosen in my life. |

| Why Did You Become An Artist |
As a child, I remember painting with the colors green and brown in kindergarten. My teacher must have saw a talent in my untrained paintings because she carefully guided me in my art studies. As each year passed, my artwork was a focal point in my study and eventually became the overpowering force. I became an artist, not for the money or fame, but because I love the warmth and feeling that comes from my work eventually being past on to my audience. I feel that I have a part in influencing the world as to the importance of artwork in their lives. |
