Artist Statement for Ti Phillips

|
|
Pottery is a vision of human creativity, with works of art that has maintained their form and glaze color for thousands of years. I use clay bodies to express visions of mind and spirit. In my work, I design vessels through creative expression of the hand, developing unusual and appealing art with carefully designed glazes and often adding driftwood, leather, hemp and other mediums to give the piece a naturally unique appeal. Using my own glaze designs, each piece depicts the powerful effects of glaze materials interacting with fire. My desire is to have those who view my pottery to feel the warmth and spirit in each piece when visually or physically handled.
