Artist Statement for Thomas Bauer

When I started out in photography* I was intrigued with the camera as more of an imaging tool to try and convey what I perceive to see and not necessarily what traditional photography creates. ~ I was amazed @ how I could put images on paper using light and chemicals. ~ I have a camera collection of many years, and have been photographing people and things all my life, but I’ve not been so fulfilled as much as I have since the introduction of digital camera imaging. ~ I’ve been working with and building computers since the introduction of DOS, so it is just fitting that I get into digital photography/imaging, between my passion for cameras digital imaging and my wizardry in computers it just feels natural. ~ I’ve always been pretty good @ pencil sketching of nature, castles, fantasies, creating landscapes and places never seen before using only my imagination… So the images you see here are more the results of a passionate artist who turned photographer. ~ (Or perhaps aspire to be) ~
