Artist Statement:
The experience received on the Malaya Gruzinskaya Str. 26, Moscow in the centre of nonconformist art that was the unique independent art centre in the USSR had vital importance for art education. Art works of such artists, as O.Tselkov, E.Neizvestnyj, Krapivnitsky, G.Bruskin, I.Shemjakin had a significant influence. Acquaintance to modern western art was held in the same place.
Art activity can be relatively divided into the following directions: painting (oil), graphic art, and photograph.
Painting direction is divided into 3 periods which ending is characterized by updating of stylistics and technology.
1986 - 91 - Serial technique, ironically game and social subjects. Plane, bright, with planimetric outlining, figurative images with addition of texts. The important influence of USA comics and artists of the pop art (for example, Roy Lichtenstein).
1991 - 95 - interest to Gestalt psychology of visual perception and influence of modern European artists have impelled interest to search of new formal methods and visual effects.
1999 - 2003 - Returning to figurative art, playing of simple archetypical images (house, tree, naked body, etc.). Strictly built composition, typical for artists of avangard, constructivism, cubism (Malevich, Pikasso). Game of formal methods, stylistics and technologies, some influence K.Noland, J.Johns, R....
