Artwork Description:
“Point Betsie Lighthouse” located on the shores of Lake Michigan just north of Frankfort has been in continuous operation since 1858 to safely guide mariners through the Manitou Passage.
The lighthouse is now owned and operated by the “Friends of Point Betsie” whom also refurbished the lighthouse keepers quarters to its original state and now rents the quarters out to folks or artists like me!
My bride of thirty years Laura and I stayed at the lighthouse for our anniversary allowing me to have a personal experience with all of its interesting and historical aspects.
The complementary colors used in the lighthouse gives the painting a harmonizing and vibrant feel, someone way back in 1858 knew the color wheel!
