Artwork Description:
: I like working with wood in doing what I call construction sculpture. That is, I like to think of putting a sculpture together using actual or psuedo-construction techniques. This eagle has no nails or glue. It is held together with tongue-in-groove techniques and with wooden pegs. How sturdy is it? It was in a gallery in California during two major earthquakes and during the following year of aftershooks. It was one of only a few works not damaged. And it remains as sturdy as ever.
