Artwork Description:
Ashoka Pillar were erected during the reign of Mauryan King Ashoka. They are scattered throughout North India. The sculpture here is one of the pillar situated in Lauriya, 24 kilometer from Bettiah in West Champaran district of Bihar state in northern India. This pillar is of one lion head with inscription of Pali Lipi (Script).
